I am an attorney and have been practicing in Walnut Creek since 1997. My practice covers two overlapping areas: business and estate planning. I have an extensive background in business planning and business transactions. I have represented numerous small companies, including startups and non-profits, with their initial organizational as well as ongoing corporate governance and business transactional needs. I also do estate planning for individuals and married couples, whether or not they own businesses. I specialize in moderate estates ($4 million or less for married couples) and small businesses (one to five owners), with the goals of protecting assets from creditors and transferring assets to the next generation while minimizing estate taxes.
I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in 1980 from the University of Michigan and my J.D. cum laude from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, in 1987, where I was a member of the Thurston Society and Managing Editor of The Hastings Law Journal.
